Since the announcement made by the Malaysian Government in 2011 on the policy of having 30 percent women in decision making positions in the corporate sector, NIEW is actively involved in this initiative and has developed a comprehensive Women Director's Programme, with the aim to identify, shortlist and to train potential women to be placed as the Director of the Public Listed Companies and Statutory Bodies in Malaysia. Therefore, we would like to welcome application by interested, and more importantly, qualified candidates. For a start, we are targeting to have 250 candidates on the list. We are seeking people with management experience at the top level in both public and private sector, preferably at the age of 45 years and above. Interested applicants, please submit your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be contacting only the successful candidates. Thank you.
Women Director's Registry System can now be accessed at www.wcdregistry.com. Registration is open to any qualified women in Malaysia who are interested to serve on boards of public-listed companies. For more information, please email to email@example.com.
In June 2011, the Malaysian Government mandated a 30% target of women representation at senior decision-making and corporate boards by 2016. The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, through its agency NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW), has since introduced the Women's Directors Programme (WDP), which aims to prepare potential and qualified women for directorship roles in Malaysian public-listed companies.
